I used this instead of the normal wax oil and it's done a good job of waterproofing my waxed jacket. Fairly easy to apply, though a bit messy due to the drips from the jacket, so do it outdoors. After a few days wear, the jacket is very supple and looks great, though lighter coloured than normal wax. You don't have the problems with wax getting everywhere if you use this. To be honest it looks better properly waxed, but this is much more convenient.
