    FIRST STRAIGHT FORWARD LOOK AT THE SUBJECT

    When the TV Series started I was hooked I watch it from beginning to end. That was the first time this subject was handled properly by the Film Industry. This probably the 8th copy of this I've purchased. I always end up giving it to a young person who has never seen it.

    "Roots" is a good fictional tale

    For a supposed accurate rendition of his family history of Alex Haley, this completely fabricated fictional story is as good as any other fictional tale on DVD. I absolutely like the characters Alex chose to plagiarize from the novel "The African" by Harold Courlander, and other sources. Which later, Alex Haley was sued for plagiarism and settled out of court for undisclosed amount. the fictional story called "ROOTS" is well done for a 70's movie.
