Is it a fryer or an oven
First of all lets get to the good points. It uses a clear glass bowl that allows you to see what's cooking. it comes with an upper and lower stand, 2 wire baskets, a stand for the lid, and tongs. It cooks your food using a halogen lamp that is thermostatically controlled and a built in fan to circulate the heat, so yes it is an oven. it cooks chips and pretty much anything else as well without oil, turning half way through the cooking time is a must though. On the down side, I have found that using the top rack without the extender ring tends to burn the food, so when possible I found it best to use the lower rack. Putting foil in the bottom of the bowl saves a lot of cleaning up and it doesn't affect the cooking, foil trays also save mess. The bad points in my opinion are that the stand ... The other thing that when I first got it was what I have since found out to be tongs, throw them away or make something useful out of them like hooks to lift the wire baskets out with, which will burn your fingers and arms trying to lift them out. It is better than the slide out drawer type and it is quite versatile and for the price it does a good job, but a bit of a re-design wouldn't go amiss. Would I purchase another? yes I have and for all its faults, it works

Poor product from a top brand!
The handle on this oven has no safety feature, even whilst in the stand the handle falls down and switches the oven on, really dangerous. The temperature control is poor, not allowing an accurate temperature to be set.

The jury is still out.
I find this type of halogen cooker too fiddly, my previous oven had a hinged lid and auto-cleaning and both cool and warm drying capabilities as well as several pre-set functions for various particular foods.
