The basis for the 2000 film starring Nicolas Cage and Angelina Jolie, 1974's GONE IN 60 SECONDS is a revered cult classic, mostly because of the delirious 40 minute car chase that concludes the film. Directed by its star, writer, producer, and stunt driver H.B. Halicki, GONE IN 60 SECONDS was a drive-in phenomenon when it was originally released. In it, Maindrian Pace and a group of his colleagues race to steal 48 specific makes and models of cars in a week, which will net them $250,000 if they succeed. However, the group runs into trouble trying to jack a 1973 Mach 1 Mustang, and Pace ends up being chased through seven counties by throngs of police in what is probably the most exciting and ambitious car chase ever filmed.

Fast Cars and Action
Randall Raines is one of the best in stealing any type car. He has been out of the business for a while and working as a mechanic at a local shop. One of his friends approaches him to get into the business and he declines. He learns that his brother (who was always in some sort of trouble) is in the business and is unable to deliver as promised and the powers that be have his life on the line. Randall has no choice now and must rescue his brother. He agrees with the mob boss to steal 50 cars in one night - not any cars, luxury cars. Talk about suspense and thrill, there is also a rival group of thieves trying to steal the same cars! Nicholas Cage plays Randall Raines and Angeline Jolie plays Sara Wayland. Giovanni Ribisi plays Randall's brother, Kip. Robert Duvall plays one of Randall's ... Randall Raines is one of the best in stealing any type car. I own this movie on dvd and liked it enough to have it on umd...great picture quality. The directors cut has some extras that the other movie did not have on it. It is also fairly friendly to have on in the airport with others looking over your shoulder...only one scene that may not be too family friendly.
