Complete Piano Player Omnibus Edition
This is by far one of the best books for piano that I have come across. I would not recommend it for a new piano student that knows nothing about piano, unless that student is taking lessons with a qualified teacher. Because you need a theory book, technical drill book, and you also need to learn the 5-finger Major and minor Scales, along with performance music. It would be great for a musical student that had about 2-3 years of piano lessons, If they were taught the basics correctly, and if that student was an adult. I would not, however, recommend this book for anyone under the age of 15.This is by far one of the best books for piano that I have come across. Really fun, without cutting any corners in learning to play the piano.
I teach piano students, and I use this book for adult beginners. It introduces the details of playing the piano on a need-to-know basis, backed up quite quickly with Beatles tunes and other pop classics. It gives the student one piece of information, and then around three songs to try it out on; as opposed to most adult beginners' books, which only give one song with the new idea, and then move on too quickly. I LOVE this book because of all of the above, plus the great progression of skills through really fun music. I have only bought the Omnibus Edition because in the long run it is cheaper than buying the five books individually.I teach piano students, and I use this book for adult beginners.
