    Dr Feelgood-Down by the jetty cd

    There really is nothing to dislike about this cd. A terrific remastering of Dr Feelgoods seminal debut album "Down by the Jetty".The added 21st century sonic oomph doesn't detract from the punchy mono sound they ended up with back in 1975.The original album is still several short sharp blows to the ears that,if they don't affect you in some way,you must be a zombie.Tight,Canvey Island,Essex R&B that stuck out like a sore thumb then and could teach quite a few bands some new tricks even now. It's easy to see how this album came to be viewed as a precurser to the nascent punk scene.Except where punks aggression was hard to control at times,the Feelgoods plan was attack and release to keep you on your toes.If you've ever been curious about this band and wondered why bands,even now,still ...

    Down by the Jetty

    I bought the album back in 1976. It was great then, and it is even better now that the remastered version has both mono and stereo discs. And all the bonus tracks - fantastic value for money. If you like good old fashioned, honest rock and roll, you would have to go a long way to beat this remastered masterpiece.

    Definative CD for any RnB / Blues collection

    Feelgood at their best! The definative Pub rock band who influenced so many bands and this is the classic line up with Wilco on guitar. the special edition is the one to get as it contains both the original recording which was in mono, a new stereo re-master and loads of bonus tracks.

    this album kicks ass

    dr feelgood were a class act . this is a great double cd collection of tracks from the era of down by the jetty . it rocks from start to finish . my mum was over at mine when i was giving it a spin and she thought it was great too .
