Meeting fascinating and engaging characters, we see Hugh go shooting for squirrels, finish off an orchard pig, scour the countryside for nuts, berries and sloes, join Cornish crabmen at sea, learn how the Victorians grew pineapples at the Gardens of Heligan and bake up a storm at a mad hatters' tea party. Each programme has a loose focus on how fruit can compliment a particular dish, starting with meat through to fish, veg and finally puddings.
