Super impressed with this seller! They had the best price by far for this book! Both the cost of the book and the shipping fee was far better than average! The book came exactly as described, it was well packaged and quite a bit earlier than expected! The seller was polite and replied quickly to my messages. I’ll definitely make another purchase soon! Thank you to the seller! Be safe and keep up the great work!

WONDERFUL book! Better than described, in just like new condition [not just good]. Packaged very carefully, shipped very securely. Great seller, would buy from again in a heartbeat! No communication occurred, but I imagine it would have been as good as the rest of their customer service. Very happy with purchase, thank you very much!

  • Phil Ochs gets his due...

For those who've never heard of Phil Ochs, as well as fans like me who've been interested in his career, this DVD provides plenty of information and comments from the people of Phil's past. I came away wishing the DVD was longer, and that more footage of Phil speaking or playing music had been included, and maybe an expanded version will be released someday (?) I've read Phil's biography and it was cool to see all of the people in that book come to life on DVD. Definitely recommended.

  • Phil Ochs, A Legend of His Time and Will Remain So For All Time!

As a protestor in the Vietnam era and the civil rights movement, not one person epitomized the times more than Phil. He was AT LEAST as good as Bob Dylan (friends) in his writing, but his voice and music was the finest of the protest genre's period. He inspired leagues of people to stand together to back a meaningful cause. In this documentary film, the director encompasses the feelings of the people who were close to the man and loved him (with the exception of Sean Penn). The FBI called him "a traitor during war time." Phil was anything but a traitor! "The Establishment" loved to call anyone who voiced a contrary opinion regarding the war a traitor. Loving ones country during an unjust war isn't traitorous. Grabbing up young men who were fresh out of high school and sending them into a ...

  • Phil Ochs Who Died For Us All.

This is the story of a balladeers struggle to change, though the power of song, many of the injustices of the sixties including the civil rights movement, the Vietnam war and the USA 's involvement in the overthrow and killing of President Allende and his supporters. Although his life ended in tradegedy, with early suicide, when he realised that the power of politics and the gun were mightier than that of a voice and a guitar, his songs and influence have never dated and endure to this day. The film, produced by his brother, pulls no punches with contemporary film of his singing and his decline into schizophrenia and drugs. Towards the end of his career he joined the A&M label and produced some haunteningly beautiful fully orchestrated pieces that were the work of a genius.

  • A must-have for those who like folk music.

Great film about a great singer/songwriter.
