Annie Leibovitz is a master photographer, and an eloquent photographer of women especially. Her subjects are always arranged with just the right mix of props and poses, and this book is a great retrospective of some of her best work of women. Included in the collection is some of her most famous photographs, and they are all a delight to look at. The included essay by Susan Sontag is also interesting to read and an essential part of the book. My ten year old daughter and I love to look at the book together (there are one or two photographs we skip because they aren't appropriate), and it helps initiate great discussions about the women and who they are or were, what they were thinking at the time, and what makes the picture unique and an accurate portrait.
