No fear of impaction
Whereas other products can cause impaction if eaten, this product is easily digestible and goes right through. I don't have to worry if my Beardie decides he wants to munch it or gets some in his mouth when grabbing bugs. It takes a while to dry completely once you've soaked it so it expands, but once it does it's lightweight and almost like dirt. Makes cleaning up droppings very easy since it absorbs the liquid and makes a solid chunk to simply scoop out. It also absorbs the odor. My Beardie likes to dig down into it and create little hills and valleys. It keeps him busy for hours. I researched several products and chose this one as being the healthiest option. Eco Earth Is Very Nice For Hermit Crabitat
Just put these bricks into a bucket of water and in about 20 minutes you will have nice fluffy Eco Earth. It stays moist nice and I mix it with clean rinsed sandbox play sand. Versatile, helpful product!
I have been using coconut fiber for many years. Good substrate for arachnids that appreciate a tropical environment. The brick can be added to a 10 gallon aquarium and filled with water to expand. Soft and fluffy
It didn't expand as much as I thought, but it was still as described. It is very fine so if my garter snake accidently ingests some it will eaisily pass through his system. I used some for my pet snails and it is soft enough for them to bury themselves as they want. Retains moisture well and is so fluffy that my garter snake can eaisily weave through it.
