Good camera but not very good conversion
It is in perfect condition with all its accessories. But I'm disappointed with the picture quality. I wanted to replace my Sony DSC-F717 with another camera making easier to capture infrared images than the DSC-F717. The Sony DSC-F717 captures better quality images in infrared mode, but you need to use different ND filters for proper exposure. Converting a purchased Panasonic camera to infrared doesn’t seem professional. I removed the infrared filter from Panasonic DMC-TZ3 sensor. Thus, it became a full-spectrum camera. With IR filter in front of the lens, it captures better images than in purchased state. Attached pictures are after my fullspectrum conversion and my otside Infrared filter.It is in perfect condition with all its accessories. But I'm disappointed with the picture quality. High Tech for the Technical Amateur
Overall an excellent camera for someone who likes high tech but doesn't necessarily have too much tech know-how. The draw-backs are few, so I shall gets those out of the way now: it's fairly heavy to carry around in a handbag, though not impossible, and the zoom has to be set before you are 'filmimg' and cannot then be adjusted. It's a dream to use for someone who knows little about focal lengths, light adjustments or even the difference between single lens reflex and a box brownie. It does, however, take high spec pics and good quality 'film'/videos. I've yet to work out how to take pictures in very low light - the flash pictures themselves come out well, but the image on the screen is so dark I found it impossible to see what I was taking. There are enough settings on the dial to please anyone technically minded and a few very useful ones that do the job for those less descerning - bit like folks who use two settings on their washing-machine - it works well enough, so who's complaining. The camera takes a large memory card, so there is no need to make too many changes, unless you are taking long video coverage - this does eat up the memory quickly. I love that you can use a standard memory card, though this is true of even the most basic digital camera these days. The cable to upload of a PC also works on an iMac so no need to make costly changes or be inconvienced there -no need for any software to be uploaded. I found it very easy to upload pictures to iPhoto and make the necessary changes to them there. I've never found it so easy before to do this, but then I've been working with very low spec cameras previously. I hope, if you decide to go for a camera in this range, that you enjoy it as much as I have. Look out for the minor glitches I'm mentioned, it's likely a more up to date version will have made improvements - I bought mine very good quality second hand, with all of the attachments and software still in the box.

After cajoling some friends into buying this camera and testing it fully I finally got the cash together and secured this outstanding camera. The 10X Optical zoom produces some outstanding results when coupled with the image stabilization feature. The wide angle feature also enables some fantastic picture framing. Although i have yet to print any of these 8 Megapixel photos, the on-screen representation is crisp and colour tones are realistic. The large LCD screen is very good and so far i have not had any issues regarding visibility in bright conditions. Finally the numerous scene modes and shooting option offer fine grain tuning to allow getting the best results from any photo opportunity. PS Dont forget to add a high capacity memory card, I got 4GB, which will allow you thousands ... A great digital camera with loads of useful features
Bought this to replace the one I lost as couldn't face learning about loads of new features and settings on a new camera. The TZ3 is easy to use and always gives excellent results. It may not be the lightest but it's rugged and takes a lot of knocks. My previous TZ3 survived rough handling on trips to Egypt, Peru and Greece and many other outings. I take it everywhere with me, even ghost hunting!Bought this to replace the one I lost as couldn't face learning about loads of new features and settings on a new camera.
