    Not sure which sander you used it on but I have a 5" makita random orbital sander and the adapter was around 5mm to big, to solve this I wrapped a strip of cloth and insulation tape around the sanders dust port until the adapter fitted snugly. On the plus side the quality and construction of the addapter ate excellent and despite the minor fit issues I am considering another one for my mouse sander.
