    An amazing book

    The illustrations in this book will mesmerize any flyfisher interested in salmon and steelhead. I tie flies and am used to seeing copious quantities of nice photographs of well-tied flies in books on flies. But Mr. Mann's book is not filled with nice photographs, it is loaded with beautiful illustrations with brilliant colors and meticulous details - each a piece of art and in the numbers presented in the book, simply dazzling. Of course there is the usual pattern descriptions for each fly and their fascinating history but it is the illustrations that has this book on my living room coffee table. The only book of flies I have ever seen that was near as fascinating was by Halford, printed in the 19th Century with hand painted flies. Buy it, you'll love it.

    Hairwing & Tube Flies for Salmon & Steelhead

    I tie flies and fish Atlantic Salmon. I purchased this book to get Chris Mann's take on tube flies. I have not seen the book yet as I had it sent to my son in Colorado Springs. He also ties flies and will bring the book up to Canada when comes on holidays in July. He tells me that he is enjoying the book and has picked up some pointers.
