I bought this to primarily play older PS2 games but figured I might as well get the backwards compatible PS3 so I can play (still very good and modern) PS3 games. The packaging was typical of a refurb, plain but tailored made to securely protect the item in transit. Exactly as advertised. There were slight signs of the item not being new but honestly no different than maybe 2-3 weeks of normal ownership so I don't feel that I lost anything other than the new product smell. Came completely blank with no signs of previous ownership such as saves and usernames. Starting it up for the first time felt like I was the first one to do so. The controller is an original Sony but felt a little sticky in the button action. After some use it seemed to have freed it up a bit. Overall I am happy ... Used PS3 60G
The system does work; however, the entire lower right side, front to back, hangs of entirely, but most importantly, the screws that hold the hard drive in place or partly stripped and impossible to remove. I may have to have the screws drilled to remove them so I can put my son's hard drive in its place. Should never sell an item that have large parts hanging off and screws that are stripped.

Just to let everyone know, this PS3 is NOT fully backwards compatible. It is only Limited Software Emulator for ps2 and ps1 games. What this means is its is NOT GUARENTEED to play every game, ONLY SOME. How do I know this? simple - there's 2 things a ps2 needs to be backwards compt. 1 - 4 USB Ports. All backwards compatible PS3s are "fat," but not all fat PS3s are backwards compatible. If you have a fat PS3, check the number of USB ports on the front of the PS3. If the PS3 has four USB ports, it is backwards compatible. If it has two USB ports, it cannot play PS2 discs. 2. Look at the serial number. Find the sticker on the back of your PS3. The last digits will inform you as to whether you have full hardware backwards compatibility, or limited software emulation: •CECHAxx (60 GB) and ... NOW - with that being said, I want to make it clear im NOT CALLING THE SELLER I LIAR or wanting to cause any fights or issues (the seller may truly not know himself). Simply want to advised and educate possible buyers to do the appropriate research before shelling out almost $200 on a system to play their beloved game but cant. So again, not trying to pick a fight just making sure the correct info is out there.

Got a bad one

Backwards Compatible, yeah
My Grandson has been wanting Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis for quite a while. The problem with that is that this game was a PS2 Game and we both had PS3's. His console was a PS3 Fat, but not compatible. Mine was a PS3 Slim, again not compatible. I purchased this Console not knowing the exact shape of the console, so I put it away until I could clean it and reapply the Thermal Grease. I purchased some Artic Silver 5. Finally got around to doing the deed. The console is running fine and I'm confident I'm not going to see the YLOD soon! Grandson now has the Jurassic Park Operation Genesis Game and has been playing it as much as possible.
