Christmas is approaching in Frogtown Hollow, and Emmet Otter and his Ma hope to buy gifts for each other. Unfortunately, Emmet doesn't make enough from the odd jobs he does, and Ma doesn't make enough as a laundress. They decide to compete in the Frog Town Hollow Talent Contest in order to win money, but Ma will have to hock Emmet's tool chest to buy a costume, and Emmet will have to put a hole in Ma's washtub for his band! Kermit the Frog hosts this classic Muppet musical Christmas tale, based on the book by Russell and Lillian Hoban, with original songs from master tunesmith Paul Williams.

Excellent Family Movie
Excellent family movie. NO worries about cursing, sex or violence. I decided to buy it as I loved it when I watched it with my children a couple of decades ago when it first played on HBO. I'd searched for it on Ebay for a couple of years and it was never at a price that I was willing to pay. It had always cost too much. It is something I wanted for my grandchildren. The story is loosely, very loosely, based on O. Henry's story, 'The Gift of the Magi'. It is an example of selfless love who prefers the other person to be happy more than enjoy their own happiness. The characters and imaginitive and will remind you maybe of people you know in real life. If you use your own imagination, that is. Emmet otter's jug band christmas
Once again Jim Henson and co. have out done themselves. Emmet enters a battle of the bands as does his mother.They both want to win the prize money so they can get the other one a christmas gift. (how sweet). Emmet finds that even with hard work you still might lose, but Emmet's mother teaches him that it is alright to lose if you did your best. In the end a restaurant owner heard them combine the two songs they sung(which sounds very nice together and reinforces the lesson of the story)Emmet's band and his mother get a job singing and alls well. I recomend this movie for any one who loves christmas or good feeling showsOnce again Jim Henson and co. have out done themselves. I loved this movie as a Kid and wanted to share it with my own children. The company was quick with shipment the price outstanding. The only thing wrong with it was my own fault for not double checking. I forgot that the new version cut out a line about one of Mrs. Otters customers falling of the dock! lol I love that part. This version does not have it in it.. So beware when purchasing this video from this year. Try and find the original year if you want it in its whole format. ;o)I loved this movie as a Kid and wanted to share it with my own children. This is a great Christmas show that I have watched since i was little a great show to pass on to my little ones Its a true Christmas show that is what this world has forgoten in the whole meaning of Christmas Enjoy it the BEST SHOW TO WATCH

Emmet Otter deleted scenes
Bought the tape with the RARE scenes of Kermit the Frog but in the end he only shows up a few brief times as a narrator!! Doesnt really impact the movie,if he werent there I wouldnt miss it. The rest of the movie seemed intact to how I remember it years ago and I really enjoyed it. Long live the River Bottom Nightmare Band!!
