I bought the device to map my travels as I am taking my first tour with the merchant navy and thought it would be fun to map my journey with the aid of laptop and phone. The product itself is very good, it connects easily to my phone (Nokia 2730 classic) and lets you use Nokia Maps software. The only slight niggle is that battery cover seems a bit fragile and the lugs may well snap in the near future. The battery lasts for a relatively long time (as long as the phone when using GPS/bluetooth) The signal picks up quickly (under a minute) outdoors, but can take a while inside when not near a window. It charges via USB, ideal if you are on the move, but unfortunately does not connect to the computer via USB to be used as a GPS device. This would be an excellent additional feature as my ... I research all products I buy thoroughly, I could only find outstanding reviews for this product, nothing negative AT ALL. Its size is compact (slightly larger than standard matchbox),it is very quick charging (charges in just over an hour for 10+ hrs use). It is a solid unit and aesthetically pleasing. It has a powerful (the latest)chip set which I was very impressed with. I used it indoors away from any windows and got a fix on 6 Sat accurate to within 10mtrs. It was an absolute cinch to set up (Discover device, pair, passkey 0000...done!) I am using it with a Nokia 5530 - no problems whatsoever. Another great feature is its hardware on off physical switch, this allows you to use it in a car permanently if powered via ignition switched power supply. If you wanted you could wire it in ... At the price I got it for (£13.90 inc P+P) an absolute steal. I am a very fussy guy and could not fault it at all! I recommend this product, you will not be disappointed!

Easy to set up easy to use
I bought the Holux GPSlim 236B Handheld GPS Receiver to breathe some life back into a old Nokia 770 internet tablet. Thought i might be able to use it in the car/outdoors walking as GPS and the Nokia as a map source. Got it, connected via bluetooth without a problem and Maemo Mapper (software on the Nokia 770) works like a treat. Battery life is definetly better than that of the Nokia (6 hours plus a bit on mine) so overall for the purpose I bought it a very good item -- and pretty cheap too.I bought the Holux GPSlim 236B Handheld GPS Receiver to breathe some life back into a old Nokia 770 internet tablet. Works with BT Stack on Ipod Touch
I bought this item specifically to use with the BT stack on a jailbroken ipod touch and it works perfectly, supplying gps data to all programs I have tried it with (Navfree, various speedo apps, xgps, maps, google earth, os 250k map) Don't know how long the battery lasts as it has always lasted longer than I have needed it for...
