    Challenges tradition and gives great food for thought - read all about it!

    I bought this product as I found the updated one a little too complex. Someone suggested this first edition to start out with and I can see why. Obviously the pictures are much older in this one and there is more "meat" in the revised edition, but I find the cartoons easier to follow as well as enjoyable. Enlightened Equitation is not rocket science but rather gentles the way you ride so that you are understanding the horse rather than telling the horse what to do and getting upset when the horse doesn't do it. Also uses different muscles to the BHS standard riding so better for me with my poorly knees. As a very novice rider (yes, even though I am 60 I have only been learning for 5 years), both my pony and I understand each other better and he holds himself well and gives of his ...

    bril really enjoyed reading it well worth getting

    bril, lots of interesting reading and learning went to a Heather Moffett demo and that was really good too. It all makes sense and if you love and care about your horse its well worth reading.

    Excellent book for Novice riders.

    An excellent Book,it has given me a good understanding of how to School Horses, with easy use of grammar and very good explanations, my only negative comment is that the pictures are slightly dated, but other than this it is a great book for a Novice to read.
