Brilliant as always!

This isn’t a review of the film, everybody has done one, but more about the Blu-ray release; and these are only my own personal opinions, which some people will disagree with I’m sure. I have just bought a Blu-ray player and, as Halloween is my favourite film, I decided to make this my first purchase. It was a waste of £7.00. The extras are not really worth the extra money. Anyone considering buying this should seriously think about getting any of the two-disc DVD versions that are available. The 25th Anniversary version has the same extras plus an on location featurette, poster and stills galleries and talent bios. It also has screen savers and the original screenplay as DVD-ROM extras. The picture quality and sound are equal to the Blu-ray version The two-disc version, with the holographic cover, has some of the extras, but the real bonus for fans, is that it contains the American TV version, which has extra scenes in it. Again, the picture quality and sound are equal to the Blu-Ray version Each of the above also comes with a booklet, and the DVDs can be bought for pennies, rather than pounds. The Blu-ray version has subtitles and a ‘Fast Film Facts’ feature, which pop up during the film telling you some interesting facts. Anchor Bay has really let people down and missed a trick on this; they could have put both the theatre and TV versions on the disc. I always thought Blu-rays are supposed to hold more data? So why release a poor quality disc, content wise? I was thinking about buying all the rest of the Halloween series on Blu-ray, now I am not so sure, if this is anything to go by.Read full review
