I saw Paolo Nutini on the Graham Norton Show, BBC channel, and loved him. He is cute, Scottish, and very likeable. I love that you can still detect his accent when he sings. Although he is young, his songs are incredibly insightful and honest. The first track, "Jenny Don't Be Hasty," channels love frustrations and maturity. Track #6, "New Shoes," is so descriptive it makes me smile and am able to picture him walking confidently in new shoes. Love it! He may not be well known but his music from this CD has been played on Grey's Anatomy ("Million Faces"), and in the movies, P.S. I Love You ("Rewind") and The Jane Austen Book Club ("New Shoes"). He is a great artist, very talented, and I expect will have a long, successful career. Definitley worth purchasing. Highly recommend.Read full review
I saw Paolo Nutini on the BBC Graham Norton Show. I couldn't get his song, "Pencil Full of Lead" out of my mind. So I bought that cd which was his second. I enjoyed his second cd so much, I went back and bought his first cd. Paolo's bluesy singing with the scottish accent is wonderful. I love the lyrics to his songs. Both of his cds are great listening. You won't be disappointed.
I saw Paolo Nutini one morning on the Today Show, performing "New Shoes". I was intrigued with his bluesy, brogue-tinged voice, and purchased the These Streets cd. I was not disappointed. The ballads Rewind and Last Request are soulful, New Shoes and Jenny Don't Be Hasty are hard strumming and gutsy, and These Streets is poignant and wistful. I hope we will hear more of the raw edge his voice gets in some lyrics, but whatever he does, I am sure the buzz this guy has created in Scotland is going to follow him here in the States. I love this kid!
I purchased this CD after hearing Paolo Nutini's "New Shoes" song and noticed that his "Rewind" song was in the movie "P.S. I Love You". I bid well below market price and was able to win this VERY inexpensively. Paolo is a young, talented Scottish artist with hopefully more improved albums in the future as he matures. Some songs will grow on you as they did on me; others probably not. His Scottish accent is intriguing with a hint of it coming through in his songs. I was surprised to discover I liked this album more than I thought I would. Paolo's someone in the music industry to watch.
Heard this on the radio a few years ago and had to have it. Don't know why it took me so long to buy it!!!! Great sound all his own. Would recommend this to everyone.
I bought this CD for one song, "New Shoes". A very catchy, feel-good ditty. However, the more I played it, the more I enjoyed ALL the songs. This is a good solid mix of several "sure to be" hits.
Very talented young singer/songwriter. Sounds older than his teen years. Love his rather gravelly voice. Currently very popular in the United Kingdom & hopefully will tour in the States.
I ordered this CD after seeing the Last Request video on t.v. I have not been disappointed. Not only is Last Request a great song, each and every song on the CD is beautifully written and recorded. The songs are full of emotion and very soulful. There are even two extra "hidden" songs at the end of the last track. You have to wait a couple of minutes for the very last one. I would highly recommend Paolo Nutini's These Streets to everyone.
This CD is more like euro jazz, which I like, and I saw Paolo on a tv special and just liked the live performance. Liked, but not really crazy about it. I thought the entire CD was going to be a lot better than it was. Had I heard the entire CD before hand, I'd of not bought it. There's only one song on the whole CD that I really liked. That's it. Thank you
I love Paolo Nutini! I first heard him on Pandora, and liked his sounds immediately. Wanted to buy the album so I could hear them all. He has a different cool sexy voice, and his songs are catchy. I love finding new music that's a little off the norm. Makes it special :) Paolo's got it goin on.
