The set up instructions that come with the starter kit are extremely lightweight. Six easy steps? I'm always sceptical of such boasts and so it proved to be. After spending (wasting) three hours or so trying and trying again to follow both the 'Six easy steps' and 'WPS Router Clone' methods of setting the powerline ac adaptor, I had zero success. In a rage, I threw everything into the corner of a room and went for a beer. The next day, having calmed down, I searched the font of all knowledge - the internet. The Devolo website has a very useful, 50 page, installation and user guide manual. (I tried to post a link to the website here, but Ebay won't let me). I downloaded the pdf, (so that I could refer to it when I had no internet connection), and, with a bit of trial and error, voila! The Devolo website also has a (Windows, Mac and Ubunta) download for their Cockpit software. Useful prior and post installation. Now it's installed and working, I can't fault it. I'd give it a five star review. But the the set up instructions that come with the pack are so meagre and lacking, the product overall loses a star.Read full review

This device works brilliantly; excellent range on LAN and no lag on WIFI. The WIFI Clone mode is great as it allows a seamless transition from hub to extender. DLan extender devices from other manufacturers on your network are recognised and integrated. The Devolo Cockpit Software allows you to see what devices are on your network and how fast they are performing which is reassuring. Just two gripes; 1) its a lot of money - but then it works better than any others I've tried; 2) the network cables have to come out of the top of the units which can be unsightly and it allows dust and fluff to get into the network sockets when they're not used (but you can buy RJ dust covers to go in the holes if you want)

I was unsure to start with if the product would work well in our stable blocks which are both on a separate consumer unit, although both on the same supply. The results are excellent, as good as if not better than the BT Hub 4 unit they are fed from. Although they work well it is at a high price hence losing a star on value for money terms. Plug and play set up was easy although the scant instructions are a little confusing in their repetition. Because of this I have not yet figured out how to properly clone my broadband hub. Overall does exactly what it says on the tin and does it well.

Very easy to connect, does the job in a large house with solid stone walls. Also fast, has removed the 'wheel of death' from watching all streaming channels and apps. Also impressed by the range. Time will tell if it stays the distance, have used mains routed boosters before that drop their connection after a couple of years. Expensive up front but should prove worth the investment if it removes the frustration of picture freeze!

You only have a few seconds to press the buttons on each unit so if you have too big a distance between you need a second person with some form of communication. Also will not work on different ring mains circuits. Makes it a bit expensive compared with other units on the market. Works very well on the same ring. Wouldn't communicate from house to garage on separate ring mains circuits.
