Yes, it is plastic and could be made to look better by wrapping the elements in rattan looking tape, but still looks nice! It is very functional and all my family love it! I received black cushion instead of white with apologies for white ones run out of stock. I do not mind, because still matching my patio however I will recomed the seller to check with buyers if that satisfying them before they just send it. Loving the chair!

However after messaging supplier who got back to me quickly said they will send another cushion out.. Hope to receive the cushion quickly as I need it for the weekend. Will be a very happy customer once cushion has been replaced.. so far good customer service though.
