    The too minimalist remote

    I've had an Apple TV for several years, and at first, I really liked the minimalist design and durability of the remote. However, the D-pad type ring is spongy and a little inconsistent, so entering letters and numbers becomes a really annoying process (on top of how annoying it is not to have a keyboard or number pad. Using the phone app is better in some cases, but you must have the remote for certain things, and if you change your wifi configuration, it's the only thing you can use to update it (the apps work via wifi), and not everyone in the house has a phone with the app. Unfortunately, I also have 2 boys who think it's the coolest thing to play with while they watch TV. It does feel great, but it's so small that it's EASILY lost. This is my biggest gripe, because this is now my ...

    The original remote makes fine tuning the tvs picture and sound easy.

    I got a Toshiba tv without the remote. Although I was able to use the tv without the remote, since I am using it with a Firestick which has it's own remote. I wanted to be able to adjust all the features of the tv, and having the original remote makes that easy.
