    Best in Price Range

    The Uniden R8 is a top notch detector. I've only had one for a few weeks and it's already saved me twice. I've had an Escort Solo for almost 30 years and it has served me quite well, but I have to say the the R8 is a better unit. In all fairness, the age of the Escort has been working against it for some time now as it contains 30 year old circuitry, however, the R8 performs much better on screening out junk signals and range. I believe that it conceals its presence to Radar detector detectors used by many law enforcement agencies as well. The range is incredible which is probably the most important feature among the plethora of features. There are so many that I haven't even begun to grasp them all. Overall it's a 5-star product.

    Quiet when customized for lacation

    High Rated customizable detector with nice mounting options. It's larger than most but not a deal-breaker. There is a lot of online support for advanced features, including set-up files from Vortex Radar Forums.

    Item damage and missing parts. Not as described.

    Product was missing one of the mounting attachments and the other mounting attachment was damaged….. suction cup was ripped up like it was taken off very carelessly. Item still works but was not with everything as described. Shipping was meh. Took longer than expected and tracking was very weird.
