About this product
Product Information
These are the heartwarming stories and personal insights of a country boy whose earliest ambition was to shovel ashes because he wanted to improve country roads and people's lives. From a two-room schoolhouse in Poplar Grove, Pennsylvania, through high school in Connellsville and on to college, Shearer completed degrees at three seminaries and master's and doctoral degrees at Columbia University. Instead of serving as missionaries in the Philippines, Richard and his high-school-sweetheart, now wife, Ruth, became the president and first lady of Alderson-Broaddus College in Philippi, West Virginia. Join Dr. Shearer as he reminisces about adventures as a singer, church pastor, cattle baron, educator, and pilot flying across North America. He tells of meeting and establishing friendships with such dignitaries as Senators Robert Byrd and Jennings Randolph, Terry Bradshaw, Marian Anderson, and baseball pioneer Jackie Robinson. His family, faith, and dedication to Christian higher education were always-and still remain-the center of his life and the source of his wisdom.

- b***a (108)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchaseExcellent Quality. Brand New. Looks very nice! Seller's price UNBEATABLE. I'd buy from this Seller again. Description spot on. Seller's communication always XL+, very helpful & pleasant. Packaging XL+. I was afraid to open package. It's like opening a B'day present w/o the Gift wrap. Post cost's very reasonable. Excellent delivery time. Arrived on time, considering our mail usually takes over 2wk from anywhere in QLD, bcoz we're remote. 10Q very much. XL+
- c***8 (1097)- Feedback left by buyer.Past 6 monthsVerified purchaseCD was brand new and sealed as described, superb value. When it did not arrive by the estimate I contacted the seller and they got back to me that day, explaining about the backlog at the post office( Christmas and new year) and requesting me to wait a couple of days so I did and it was delivered in that time. Excellent customer service, very happy, having purchased here before . Packaging was fine, no damage to items enclosed. 🙂🙂Tori Amos Diving Deep Live (CD) Album (#356217224890)
- a***a (77)- Feedback left by buyer.Past 6 monthsVerified purchaseMy item arrived but it wasn’t the colour advertised however, after contacting the seller they replied quickly, they were so apologetic and offered a partial refund which I gladly accepted. We all make mistakes but it’s how it’s dealt with that counts and this seller was great. The record was still new, the packaging was good quality so it arrived without any damage and the record is in perfect condition. The price was fair too. I’m still happy overall and I would buy from this seller again.Ghost If You Have Ghost (Vinyl) (#286290676132)
