I gave the four star rating because I think it was banged up a bit in shipping (envelope type package with bubble wrap) and maybe should have been put in a box with bubble wrap. My son is giving this to his new wife on their wedding day so I didn't want to chance sending it back since it was the only new version I could find online for him. I think she'll love it anyway. Overall, I'd say I'm really pleased though and would recommend this seller.

    Great bible for the price.

    Very nice product. It looks nice, it feels good in your hands, which is important where a book is concerned. This bible lays flat. You don't have to fight with it in order to read. This bible has a very nice looking binding. The gilded pages are attractive. The level of page ghosting is acceptable. Carrying it around is not a burden. The size and weight are good for putting in purses, backpacks or hand carry. Most convenient. This bible is available for a great price. The font style and size makes it easy to read.

    Strength is a weakness

    I bought this because of the Jewish flavor it was promoting. But the strength also turned out to be a weakness because of its use of Hebrew words sprinkled in without explanation or translation. This makes it difficult to read unless you are familiar with these words. Otherwise you would need to have a Hebrew reference nearby to do your own translating. I still would recommend it if you are willing to do that but as a minister I find it challenging to get folks to read more user friendly versions much less one that they have to do extra work to understand.

    A Karaite Viewpoint

    A very good Version With incite to the Majority of Jewish Liturgy, As a Karaite, i am not Superstitious of The Holy Name imprinted as YHWH in Hebrew. We use the Name, rendered as We Understand it and Believe We can get Personal With "Ha Shem" (the Name) Although is Reform to Ultra Orthodox You could be Comfortable with the Translation with the various Talmudic forbidances . but it is a version of TORAH yet not TORAH.
