    Great sleeper of a movie.

    Murder mysteries and puzzles are always entertaining, and this plot has the added twist of war to compound the hunt. I saw this originally when it was released and had it in my VHS collection, which I've watched hundreds of time, but we upgraded to DVD around here, and I just had to find it in that format. It's a good movie with famous actors, and it's full of plot twists. Don't miss it.

    An extraordinarily fine film. Performances by Omar Sharif, Peter O'Toole, Philippe Noiret are great.

    My only regret and it is a real shame is that the American version does not keep the dialogue in the original languages as it was when I first saw it in Paris. Most of the dialogue is original English but the parts where Germans speak to Germans and French speak to French was originally in respective languages. I would pay whatever to get a copy of the original in a US format. Philippe Noiret does his own dubbing so that helps.
