Good picture, but didn't deserve Best Picture
"Moonlight" is a sometimes harrowing movie about a black boy who grows up under most unfortunate circumstances, but, as a man could be ultimately considered both a "success" as well as a failure. The inner city dialog adds to the authenticity of the film. While a very good film, another movie about urban black life should have received the Academy Award for Best Picture: "Fences."

Moonlight
I wanted this movie because it won the Oscar for the best picture, I knew nothing else about it. The acting in this movie is amazing. So many actors that I had never seen in anything before and I'm not sure why because their performance in this movie blew me away. I've watched it several times and each time I see something that I missed before. If I had to use 3 words to describe this movie they would be gripping, touching and compelling. I definitely see why it one the Oscar for best picture. The performances by all the actors is wonderful. It also has some great music!

it shows that gay people can love and feel like regular people.being gay can be a complicated matter for some people. especially people of color.it can take a long time to come to terms with your homosexuality.as the movie shows toward the end.
