    Cleaning Out Tankless Hot Water Heater

    Cleaned out the tankless water heater just fine. It was amazing how much residue builds up on the heating elements in one year even with a water softener. It was also very easy to use and saved a lot of money doing it myself versus hiring a plumber to do it.

    Descale your on demand water heater.

    It is necessary to flush out (descale) an electric on-demand water heater at least once a year. Some sources recommend vinegar and other sources recommend CLR. I do not know whether vinegar or CLR work, so I choose Whitman Flow-Aide. I can verify that Flow-Aide works well. Also - Whitman sells a descaler kit which includes its Flow-Aide. Look into assembling your own descaler kit from washing machine hoses, a bucket and a pump -- and the descaler you choose.
