One of the best psychological horrors out there
I like a good horror film-ones that have a profound effect.This definitely does in spades.Ok,its the American remake,bt by the same director and set in japan-and following on from the equally excellent The Ring,the director knows well how to work on peoples minds with noises,sudden shocks,those half glimpses of something that may or may not be there,atmosphere,and music. If youre looking for blood and gore horror you wont find much here,although this directors cut has a tad more than the original release.I believe Sam Raimi was involved in this and hes obviously been very restrained on the gore factor...but Raimi also knows how to work on peoples minds with atmosphere and music and noises and that sense of impending and waiting. The ending is very clever too,and you realise why its called ... THE GRUDGE
This film is a good watch if you like horror and suspence. It is in same catagorie as saw but it is only a 15 so not as bloody.
