This action-horror film is set in ancient Romania and stars Kristianna Loken (TERMINATOR 3) as Rayne, a half-human/half-vampire sworn to kill her evil tyrant vampire father (Ben Kingsley). Michael Madsen, Michelle Rodriguez, and Matthew Davis play a trio of vampire hunters who ally themselves with Rayne. Based on a video game, this film offers a lot more blood, gore, and nudity--and less CGI effects--than most of its modern vamp contemporaries. With all its swords, chained breasts, gushing arteries, and severed heads, BLOODRAYNE seems more like a welcome throwback to early 1980s sword and sorcery films. In between the slashing and gouging there are torch-lit castles, nefarious booby traps, blurry flashbacks, and aerial camera shots that swoop down through the gorgeous Carpathian landscapes. There's a number of name actors in bit parts, including Meat Loaf (as a vamp surrounded by nubile naked concubines), Geraldine Chaplin (as a fortune teller), and--clearly having the most fun--Billy Zane as a bored vampire king plotting to take over the kingdom. BLOODRAYNE is directed by Uwe Boll, the man who gave us the video game adaptations of HOUSE OF THE DEAD and ALONE IN THE DARK.

Fast paced and entertaining.
If you like the vampyre genre you should like this film. Kristanna Loken gives a good performance as the half human, half vampyre known as "Damphirs". The action and story are fast paced and entertaining. A good piece of escapism.

i do like watching vampire films this one is ok but it does have a few floors. the cast is pretty well known, the blood isnt always very convincing a bit free flowing at times. its a story about a half human half vampire woman called rayne she teams up with the vampire hunters to take out the main vampire. its got plenty of killing a bit of nudity and a bit of a disapointing ending but worth watching once.i do like watching vampire films this one is ok but it does have a few floors. the cast is pretty well known, the blood isnt always very convincing a bit free flowing at times. its a story about a half human half vampire woman called rayne she teams up with the vampire hunters to take out the main vampire. its got plenty of killing a bit of nudity and a bit of a disapointing ending but worth watching once.

awesome product great value for the money
exellent dvd would recomend to any body i have all the other bloodrayne and they are great as well i did not dislike any thing on this dvd

Not that bad really
I had read some terrible reviews about this film but it's really not that terrible, Ok it's not in the same league as Underworld or similar but it's worth a watch. I made the mistake of watching Bloodrayne 2 and Ohh dear that was the absolute pits with wooden acting and poor script, I actually thought at one point I had got the wrong film and had got a spoof version it was that bad, still worth watching to see just how not too make a sequel.I had read some terrible reviews about this film but it's really not that terrible, Ok it's not in the same league as Underworld or similar but it's worth a watch.
