Every see Band of Brother's? This isn't it, but that is not a bad thing. The battlefields are real, down to the exact location of houses as they appeared in 1945. That is some kind of production work. It is also not your average WWII shooter either. You have to think like a real soldier. Fire and maneuver to flank your target rather than go all in guns a blazin' I like that. Sometimes it can get glitchy with the squad AI, but most of the time they won't let you down. The graphics are pretty good, but part of the art style gives them a "washed" look. The presentation and production values are great. Emotionally charged story has you caring about all of the characters in your squad, and that is rare for a game these days.
THE most realistic WWII shooter game I have played yet. This game places you in some of the most realistic and historically accurate scenarios yet. While MOH starts you on Omaha beach, BoB puts you in a C-47 troop carrier plane before the troops hit the beach. You are with the 502nd Parachute Infantry Regiment 101st Airborne Division. Did you see Band of brothers? This game gives you the feel that you are there. In the beginning you jump out of your plane where you head towards enemy infested badlands. As you come down your mazette bag, with all your gear, gets torn away leaving you with no gun! Luckily you find a fellow trooper and.....well, you'll see. Aside from the history you can learn from this game, you will have a ball playing it. You do start off playing a single shooter game, but as you progress you get more responsibilty and take command of some troops. The gameplay is not difficult and there is an ingame tutorial that is helpful. While the game itself is great it does have some of the characteristics from playing a war game, such as profanity and extensive violence so you may want to keep that in mind for younger players. You can't get any closer to WWII squad based combat than Brothers in arms. Have fun it's a game!Read full review
This game is hands down the best World War 2 Game I have ever come to own. I love how you can command the squad, unlike most of the other WW2 titles out there. Great graphics and easy controls make a great combo. Plus this game is based on a true story witch makes this a winning title. I definatly recomend this title to anyone who owns an Xbox. Notee: This review is for the XBOX version only. Hint: If you would like to heal yourself or your squad, die three times by either throwing a grenade at yourself or letting the germans kill you. On the third time when the "Reload checkpoint" screen appears hit reload checkpoint, another screen will appear that asks reload checkpoint or heal and reload.
Not very many action/RPG/FPS games have the accuracy and detail that Brothers in Arms has. It allows you to control your squad(s), but not precisely and without the aid of unrealistic or excessive mapping and technology. While remaining true to the story and maintaining time oriented aspects of World War II, the plot keeps you entertained and involved. There is never a dull moment. The ending was a bit easier than I had hoped, but concluded the objectives of the game nicely. The multiplayer feature is fun, but make sure that, if you are playing with someone of little or no experience, they get a fair chance to play the single player just a bit before jumping in! Great game and highly recommended! Enjoy!
It's a very realistic WWII game. I like the fact that this game is based on a true story. The characters were real heroes of WWII. This game shows you what this men went through. Ordinary men going through extraordinary situations. The game starts you on Omaha beach, then your in a C-47 troop carrier plane before the troops hit the beach. Later you find yourself with the 502nd Parachute Infantry Regiment 101st Airborne Division. Did you see Band of brothers? this game reminds me of that mini series (my favorite mini series). The gameplay is not difficult and there is an ingame tutorial that is helpful. It's a great and fun game.
