DVD box set of The Saint, complete series 1, featuring Roger Moore aka "The famous Simon Templar". At February 2024, Talking Pictures TV are currently running these monochrome episodes on a Monday afternoon at 3pm. On seeing this set on offer, I decided not to wait and had to buy. To my mind this is Roger Moore's made to measure role. Far better than Bond. The stories and supporting cast are great with a role call of well known actors from the period. Despite the frequent downplaying of his abilities, Roger Moore was a very good actor. His portrayal of S.T. is pitch perfect. Stunt doubles we're obviously used for some shots but he realistically and enthusiastically puts everything into the fight scenes when he's on camera. Sixties nostalgia? Good value boxset!
As I say this boxset is good value, when you consider the content, I must admit that I haven't watched any of the series yet, but I will & I know that I will enjoy them! Roger Moore knew his strengths & he played them very well, he also knew his weaknesses & was't afraid to admit them, The Saint is arguably the best way to see Roger Moore & a very good way to switch off from the excessive violence & so called "reality" that we quite often see these days!! Engaging entertaining 1960's TV Series. Well worth watching.
Considering this Series was aired on TV in the 1960's ,it still remains remarkably good. The stories are well written and their are a lot of up and coming stars in the episodes. Okay this series is in Black and White but has superb incidental music. I would recommend this series.

These DVDs must teach how to make television
In Italy they are just going out to the vintage colors of "the saint" and then I tried all the episodes in black and white, are only in English but are fantastic, beautiful women and great action, the 60. They are happy with your purchase, I find that everyone should see a TV of this level, Roger Moore is a great actor.
