    Super and Gripping Read to the Enc

    This is a book I think that you need to set aside time to read - not only because the chapters are long.... it is not easy to decide to read to the next chapter but also it is written by an academic and therefore the story is intricately woven and written. The story centers around a witch who has repressed her magic and a very old vampires. I think the characters are written around the old misconception that women are weak and the men are the protectors which I hope is diluted in the second book where Diana (the witch) develops a stronger character and isn't so "on dear me I feel faint". Bearing that in mind the story is fantastic and I bought book 2 and 3.

    Not what I expected.

    I bought this book thinking it would be about 17th century witches and was very disappointed with the book. The book became too heavy for my reading topic so Ive passed the book on. Im sure its a very good read for many others but not for me.

    Discovery of witches

    Watched the 1st series on TV and was hooked. Bought the book, it's a big book with small print but don't be put off it's brilliant. The attention to detail is great, filling in so much more than the television series. You can't wait to read more. Highly recommended.

    Dark, mystical, intriguing.

    The series is fantastic so I had to buy the book to fill in the gaps left out by the screen adaptation. In fact, it's so good, I bought all 3 books to keep me going until the next season is brought to our screens. The best love story in a long time, along with a multitude of wonderful historical facts I would never have known about until now. Highly recommended!
