An all time classic that shows the wonders of humanity and nature
If you like documentaries I would say you HAVE to watch this film. I have watched this 3-4 times and still it strikes me with wonder. Thank the Lord that people like Timothy Treadwell exist...and Herzog for that matter! I guess the reason I love this type of documentary so much is because it contrasts so much with the mundane existence that most of us call everyday life. Wener Herzog is a legend and this film is one of his best. As always, effortless to watch, whilst not crumpling any of the story, the film trickles on and never fails to engage the viewer. I think any viewer with a taste for documentary film will be left awestruck and wanting more. Indeed, if you have not seen any of Herzog's other films, head on and enjoy some more - 'Encounter's at the end of the World' and White Diamond ... Not only is it a very good nature film it depicts the mind of a man/woman who gets to close to wild animals for so long that he/she thinks they have a one on one mindset with a wild animal which will never never be as we find out with tragic results. Just like your aged Aunt or Uncle talking to their cat or dog with the words "he/she knows everything I say you know"

This is a fantastic documentary/film I have watched it about 10 times now. Never gets boring. The story of Tim Treadwell is so so devastating but also so incredible and fascinating. His journey is one to watch. My new favourite film.
