    Chris Rea at his best

Whilst being known by many for his popular songs such as Road to Hell, the bluesy slide guitar work is the best he has ever done. To see him in full flight playing this live is incredible. In my opinion, this is among his best work.

  • Chris Rea .Dancin down the stoney road

Very soft and backlaid style of album wich I like very much. Typical Chris Rea but in a another approach of music than the typical Rea style. More bluesy and and clean in sound that I like better from him. Maybe a couple songs were too much of a gospel or not my type of songs. But as in general a very fine album from Chris Rea and of of the better that he have made in many years.

  • Excellent title depicting his life.

This is an excellent picture-book story of the ups and downs in his life set to the old gospel legends Rosetta Tharpe and Willy Johnson. It deviates from his previous popular music and I was disappointed. This is music that you can only listen to on your own, not a sharing experience. I don't think I shall play it very often. It's very good, but different; maybe I'll get used to it, I hope so. I bought it because I loved his Road to Hell, Light through Old Windows, and Auberge. I'd never heard this before and I expected it to be similar.
