A live performance by the amazing Gunners!!
During the release of the fantastic double album by Guns n' Roses (Use Your Illusion 1+2) the band had set off on their record-breaking world tour for 28 months! The tour consisted of 128 shows in 27 different countries, none of which left ANY disapointed fans! Once Guns n' Roses reached the stage, they were unstopable! As you may very well see in this first part of an amazing collection of live performances! The sound of the instuments are pretty much exactly what you would find on any of their past debue albums. Apart from the fact that Izzy Stradlin (who was possibly the best rhythm guitarist/songwriter EVER) had just left the band at the begining of the tour, which unfortunatly gave Slash a rather big job of having to take over parts of the rhythm himself at times, the performance was ... Slash's extended solos are the highlights for me though; because alot of the solos aren't the same as they are on the records, but what he can come up with instead is far more impressive by a long shot! Axl Rose is as fresh as ever. All the high notes are reached and the different styles of his singing are all shown off in this 75 minute show. He's amazing, and he can interact very well with the audience in a way that no one I've ever seen does. Between a lot of the songs, Slash gives a little demonstration of other artists' solos and melodies, and on the other DVD (Use Your Illusion 2) Matt Sorum gives a cracking drum solo, which gets the whole of Tokyo pumping with adrenalin! This DVD is a must-have for all rock fans, and as you might of guessed, so is the second! All the band members are all shown in quality shots, the sound of all the instruments are perfect and, lets face it, it's GUNS N' ROSES!
