1994 Mogadishu, Somalia ,where warlord Mohamed Aidid is weaponising aid ,by preventing it reaching his fellow countrymen. Having already killed UN relief workers, the Clinton administration send in US rangers to capture leaders of Aidids clan......things go badly wrong in the process ,when two Blackhawk helicopters crash,and an all mighty gun battle ensues. Ridley Scott stokes up the action alright, but you know next to nothing about the US soldiers characters,and therefore feel less involved.
