I am extremely cautious about buying films, because one gets tired of most of the films after watching them once or twice, case in which it is always better to hire them. This film, the Remains of the day, belongs to the elite of the very few films which I want to re-watch in some years, or show it to friends. A film I want to re-analyse in the future. For me this film is about the conflict between passion and sense of duty. It's about temptation, fear,selfcontrol, self deception. Is about when things are not as simple as good against evil, or "black-white". Is one of the few love films where there is no sexual intercourse involved; not I am a moralist, but this is a refreshing different story. The analysis of the behavior of the characters in the film can be interesting as to how women ...
