    Truly a great film except for DVD skipping and hanging

    Truly a great film depicts the title. It is a must-watch for the neutrals. However, the DVD skips and hangs at some point not making it smooth viewing

    A brilliant scope on the great Sir Thomas More canonized 300 years later by the church and made a Saint by the Roman Catholic church. Engaging,beautifully period and a great film from 1966.

    Love the title. Rarely there comes a man who stands up for his principles against all odds.

    A stellar cast of superb actors including Orson Welles, Paul Scofield, Robert Shaw, John Hurt, Wendy Hiller, Leo Mckern, Nigel Davenport marvellous!! The story is a faithful account of what happened and gives a penetrating insight into Henry's court. Scofield as Thomas More puts in a stunning performance and earned him an Oscar for best actor. An enigmatic private man he didn't even attend to receive it. Screenplay by Robert Bolt a genius. On release 1966 The film is a "masterpiece" made in a golden age of British cinema. Highly recommended. If you have never seen this film you are in for a treat.
