Study your plays better, Weber!
A musically charged play (think Trans-Siberian Orchestra) with a riveting story, BUT...the ending doesn't match with its predecessor. Study your plays better, Weber! No spoilers here, but if you're a true "Phantom of the Opera" fan, be prepared for a different ending. Overall, a good movie; 4 stars of 5 for the changed ending; and strong, lively, rock music.

i have no reservations in recommending to any Phantom fan,

Even Andrew Lloyd Webber can't hit it out of the park everytime!
If you are a Andrew Lloyd Webber fan, you need this DVD in your collection. Gigi and I attended a performance in London several years ago and enjoyed it but we were not wowed by it. The music is beautiful, the staging, costumes, and actor performances were fabulous, but the story didn't move us. Would we see it again live? Maybe. We couldn't although miss this recorded performance in Australia. We are fans of Andrew and we will always be. Even Webber can't hit it out of the park every time he goes to the plate. You should buy this none the less.If you are a Andrew Lloyd Webber fan, you need this DVD in your collection. Would Have Been Better As Its Own Story
It's no "Phantom," but this sequel has its own charm. In opinion it would have been better if it hadn't been a sequel to Phantom of the Opera, and had just been a story in it's own right.
