  • A classic for students of English Literature and English Social History.

This is an absolute classic book recording Orwell's experience living on the streets of Paris and London. As such it gives a fascinating insight into life in the two capitals at the start of the twentieth century, and in particular how the poor and working classes lived. The book becomes a bit dull and repetitive at times, but it is a must for anyone who is interested in classic English Literature and English Social History. After this, try reading his Road to Wigan Pier.

  • Bit old of a book but can't complain price v good
