This phone has the top hardware specs available at the time of its production, and almost a year after that. So, you can consider Xperia X10 with an excellent hardware for its given price. The phone works great and it can do almost about anything you can imagine from a cellphone. My only concern about this phone is the lack of good apps (software) that can run the excellent camera (hardware) of the phone. The stock app that runs the camera is very slow and full of confusion. It doesn't allow the led flash to operate as a "flash" , but it can only be turned on after a very long way. Also, be careful for the hungry battery you have in this phone which drains very fast (although this can be justified with the powerful processor and the big screen) Other than this, I don't see any major problems with Xperia X10 which I use as my second personal computer. The GPS is excellent in locking with the satellites in few seconds, the screen size is optimum, and I have a good experience with web surfing on this phone. BTW, most cellphone manufacturers update their operating systems within the same time, so don't listen to those who claim lag of updates from Sony. If you need the last version of the operating system, you can just pay more and buy a new phone (like other manufacturers, Sony announced their plans to produce phones with the Android 2.3 while most of their phones are running Android 2.1 or older)!Read full review
I really have nothing to compare to since this is the first smart phone I personally have owned. What I can say is the phone is a good weight, feels good in the hand, fits into the back pocket of my jeans, has a great camera, the screen is good sized and crystal clear....On the down side, one quickly learns what,"fat finger", means when trying to type in the tiny key screen, I did learn to turn the phone side ways, and it did increase the key screen. However there still seems to be a problem with typing errors when I get out of "dead center" on the key I want. It does have a smart screen that thinks for you and if the word you are looking for is in that little section below the page, you can touch it and most of the time it will appear in your text and you can continue with out having to erase. The screen is sometimes very sensitive to touch and at other times one has to touch several times..I've had the screen freeze and had to turn the phone off and start all over again, not really a time saver when this happens. I've only had it about 6 weeks and am still learning all the ins and outs though...I'm not going to give it up, I like the phone overall and later when I really can put it to the test, I will probably re-rate it.Read full review
Coming from a iPhone 3GS, I have mixed feelings with this phone. First, the touch isn't as good as the iPhone, it lacks multitouch which I miss it a loot zooming in webpages for example. It still has Android 1.6 which is a little dated and even though it has a Snapdragon 1GHz processor, sometimes I feel it slower than my older phone. Fortunately Sony will give us a 2.1 update the end of September, and well, it has good points too.. the screen is huge and nice, the camera is really good for a phone, night photos still suck but at least you can photo something at night, with the iphone you just couldn't, being Android is a lot more open for applications and more customizable. You won't regret getting one anyway, it's a really good phone. Just wish Sony could let you get stock android and not with their propietary apps.Read full review
The pros are that i can get it at a good price and the camera takes awesome pictures. The cons are that the android version is a little out of date and it takes forever to Sony Ericsson to release the upgrade, however android 2.1 is good enough to use internet and apps... Another pro is that the display is big enough and slim phone to carry...
Advantages: 1. The main advantage of sraneniyu with htc and samsung models in design and materials of the case, as well as interior design (I do not mean the property of their interfaces, which few people seem to use). 2. Build quality is very good, except for the cover. But, of course, chetyertym iPhones do not compare. 3. The price is absolutely reasonable in comparison with the iPhones and comparable to htc. 4. The battery is better than htc. 5. Card of 8 gigs in the kit. Phone's memory 1 gig instead of 0.5 for htc. 6. Instead of the screen - a good camera, but I never use it. Disadvantages: 1. old operating system 1.6. Promise to update - hard to believe. 2. tft screen instead amoled, but the picture is quite reasonable, if not use the device for video. After firmware 2.1 will be 256K instead of 64K colors now. 3. the back cover could be sdeat ponadezhnee. Comment: I have long been using computers sony - there is all sorts of domestic programs, which I traditionally ignore. If ever the quality of the phone (assembly and materials, and design) will be at the Vaio, I think it would be a much needed aid. We must pay tribute to - they've made a step in that direction.Read full review
