I owned a supercut which lasted 15 years (and cost £350), repaired once but had to bin it when my repairer could no longer get parts. I bought a cheap replacement when it died but killed it on the very first job. It was replaced cos was under guarantee but i could feel it dying again so have relegated it so soft short jobs. This multimaster is better and the quick change a relief. It's quieter and lighter with less vibration and doesn't get so hot but cuts at about the same speed. And has a 2 year warranty. I use it for replacing leaded windows with triple glazed units by removing the putty (which smoothes all but the best blades) then chopping the woodwork out to take a bigger panel (6mm all round and 20mm deeper and usually hitting nails). I find that the cut depends on the quality of the blades and have found that the only ones which stay straight and sharp are the genuine Fein ones. They're far more expensive ( i'm starting to find cheaper ones) but last about 5 times longer than any other, and i have tried them all...shark, saxton, jisco etc although jisco were the best of that bunch. One problem is that i can't use the multitude of supercut blades i own because Fein have not built an adapter. Great machine... i love it as much as i did my supercut.Read full review
