Ideal like for like.
This product was ideal replacement and like for like. The only Con side of the replacement was the removal of the clips, bolts, and cover trims, as you have to very careful when removing the cover trims, as the retaining clips behind can break quite easily. installation was easy, and went without a glitch. Quite do not understand why Vauxhall designed the latch in such a way where it is exposed to moisture, as it corrodes the cable and plastic from behind.This product was ideal replacement and like for like. works as expected
Works exactly as original in my 2010 Estate. Quite difficult to install, unlike the Saloon (of which there are plenty of videos), you have to remove all the interior trim on the inside of the tailgate. This will expose the 6 10mm bolts holding the exterior trim (the part with the switch and vauxhall badge), remove these and the entire thing will come off with a bit of jiggling, unplug the power block and place it on the floor (on a towel/cloth) this will allow access to the tailgate switch, just squeeze the two tabs together and it will push out, cut the wires to the old switch. push the new one in and then strip 5mm sheath off the wires that connected to the old switch, insert these into the new pre-crimped joints on the new switch, if you dont have cable crimps just use some pliers to ... Works exactly as original in my 2010 Estate. Insignia Estate- Finally I can open my boot!
Got this repair kit to cure the common fault problem with this model of car. The hardest part is stripping the trim down on the boot lid with those annoying retaining clips. Fitted and working well. A cheaper option than paying for the same thing with a bit of extra wire and a connector on it.
