Considering its price, and robust build quality, and excellent performance, this was one of my most sensible and reassuring purchase choices, especially when you see the prices of its contemporaries ,admittedly it may be possible to see better results from vastly more expensive equipe,if numbers are not a consideration,,,lucky you,but this does the job, without feeling like it has to be kept in cotton wool,,very easy to use,and it looks cool, sleek, and professional kit.
Good Value Lens. I bought this lens while waiting for a good deal on Canon lens. It served me well and I got some great pictures of birds (mostly using a tripod). It will not be equal to a 100-400mm Canon lens but it is still a great value for dollar paid.

I have been told this is an older model , I have one and I like it very much. It gives great shots between 250 and 350 , at 400 it takes a little getting used to in manual focus mode but does a really nice job for the money. I use it for birding all the time , both hand held and w/ tripod. Looks real good on my Canon 60D too .
I have taken several shots with this lens it sharp clear with very good color quality. I do stop it down to about F11 but with most lense of this type you should. I of course always use a tripod.
While not completely accurate on the condition of the internals, I think this was a fabulous deal and am glad I bought it. There is a touch of fungus on a couple of planes, but it's not a big deal, and does not signify that the lens was improperly cared for, it just happens with long lenses.
