I inherited the sax from my son, who left it behind when he left home. I started to learn to play the 20-year old instrument as a retirement project. The dried-out cork soon fell to bits and I found the Valentino cork on-line, and a YouTube video to show how to fit it. As a model aeroplane maker I have a good range of small tools so had a go. I got it right first time - except that the old mouthpiece of my son's that I used to test fit the new cork turned out to be of a slightly larger diameter than my new Yamaha mp - so I took off slightly too much of the new cork. So, I had to do it again and this time it's perfect. If you are all fingers and thumbs, don't try it - but if you are a competent DIYer then fitting this cork should be straightforward. Sanding it down to the correct diameter is the hard part. This is a synthetic cork, and it's very compressible, so easily seals the mp to the sax - good material and very good value.Read full review

Nice quality cork, pre-glued, so you just cut it carefully, apply, and the job is done. Once on, the cork can be sanded down to suit your mouthpiece. I was really pleased to find this online, and delighted with my purchase. Four stars rather than five, as for what you get it's still priced a little bit high.

Really easy and quick to fit as its self adhesive and pretty much cut to size. Self adhesive seems to have adhered well to the neck on my sax, isn't the cheapest option but is really convenient.

Have used these on all my saxes bari, tenor, alto and sop. Quick easy long lasting replacement of neck cork, can be carefully adjusted by sanding but usually unnecessary except with the odd sized rogue mouthpiece.

First time I’ve used this product, Bit fiddly to fit but certainly seems to do the job, time will tell
