In my opinion there are 3 essential albums to have from Mike Oldfield and they are Tubular Bells, Ommadawn and Hergest Ridge. For me they bring back so many memories of when we were kids at school everyone had these albums. When I am at home I listen to these recordings on vinyl as it is a more personal feeling and I remember buying them all those years ago. However, the reason I bought this particular CD was to listen to in the car. As I travel around the countryside it creates the perfect setting and I can recommend to everyone to do the same. There isn't a negative about this as it is a classic recording from the 70's and should be as it was then. This, the second LP release from the master of overdubs, has all the power and passion of the great and mighty Tubular Bells. It also has more subtlety. I bought my CD copy to replace a lost LP, whilst it is a remastered version, it still has all the power and emotion of the original. Tremendous flowing melodies that swirl around like the outer edges of a storm before being suddenly blasted into the next eye of the tornado, this is classic Oldfield.
