Clear,precise and fast. Great scanner.
This little Scanner can do almost the same amount that the big brand scanners can do,it's fast and clear and when you use it and get familiar with it it is "amazing"! And with a licence that expires in 2085, it will be beyond my life and beyond my son's life so it is truly a lifetime of updates!

This is a tool, not a magic box !!!
A great and invaluable tool for the everyday mechanic, with today's complex computer controlled engine management systems on cars these days, it is a must have diagnostic tool. I had an airbag fault on my car which is an MOT failure and just 2 days left to go for my test!! Without knowing where to look it is an almost impossible task ! With this tool I was able to pin point the area of the fault and found the damaged cable within minuets. I repaired the damaged cable, re checked the fault code with was no longer " an active fault " I was able to clear the fault and was therefore able to take my car for it's test and it passed, all due to this diagnostic tester. So in essence this has already paid for it's self, with the cost of getting it diagnosed at a garage and then repaired. It ... It comes with any cables required and supplied a tough plastic carry case and manual, also a USB card reader. This is used to update the software, ie remove the 16GB mem card, plug into the USB adapter and then into your PC. Before using for the first time, I registered the tester and did a full update which took around 20 mins, returned the mem card to the unit and was ready to go. Any faults detected are displayed as Active or Passive. Passive faults are faults the have occurred and been registered in the system (ie intermittent/transient faults). These can be reset and cleared from the code reader. Active faults can not be reset/cleared until the fault has been fixed, as in my case, a broken wire in the airbag system. All fault codes can be saved to the mem card if required for future reference etc. This a not a magic box of tricks that will fix the fault for you, it is just a tool like a spanner and will only indicate where or what the fault is !! For most of my life I have worked on cars, now a retired aircraft engineer this tool is a must if you want to continue doing your own repairs or helping others !!! I already have 2 other cars to look at with airbag faults, one being my daughters............ Hope this helps anyone, this tester will probably outlive me !!!

Does a lot for the price.
This scanner will work with almost all makes of cars, which is good, live data, tells you what the code numbers are, diagnosed my abs faulty sensor and on which wheel, I do have another ond scanner but this one does a lot more, I would have liked if it could check out the fuel injectors, but for the price this does a lot more than many others that are around this price mark, there is another model that diagnoses fuel injectors but it was over a £100 pounds difference, it depends what you want to use it for or diagnose, it will also reset your engine and oil light.This scanner will work with almost all makes of cars, which is good, live data, tells you what the code numbers are, diagnosed my abs faulty sensor and on which wheel, I do have another ond scanner but this one does a lot more, I would have liked if it could check out the fuel injectors, but for the price this does a lot more than many others that are around this price mark, there is another model that diagnoses fuel injectors but it was over a £100 pounds difference, it depends what you want to use it for or diagnose, it will also reset your engine and oil light.

Great purchase which enabled me to identify the ABS issues on my car
Purchased to sort the ABS issues on my 13 year old car, a Kia Rio mk2 with an ABS fault (light on constantly). There is really no need to update the reader software prior to using as the pre-installed software is bang up to date. I can confirm that this OBD2 reader is able to both read and erase ABS module codes on my Korean car. I cleared the codes which turned the ABS light off. I was then able to start from scratch and read fault codes as they appeared and identify a failed ABS sensor and damaged CV joint Reluctor ring, which I replaced. ABS issues sorted. Given that last time I had an ABS fault my local indy charged me £40 just to read the codes, this reader is in my view half paid for already.
