A great appliance isolation solution.
This is my third set of these in the last three years. Previously I have used them as a convenient way to switch the table lamps from my chair, in the lounge and conservatory, but this time I wanted an easy way to isolate the washing machine, the dishwasher and the tumble dryer in the kitchen, all of which have their mains sockets in inaccessible places in cupboards, and recently seem to have acquired a reputation in the news, for causing fires, even when not in use. These remote switches are capable of carrying 13A so no problem with their electrical capacity, for these heavy power consuming appliances. Just hit the ALL OFF button before going out or to bed. The switch's standby current / wattage is minimal for this peace of mind. Only deducted one star because on this set, the remote ... This is my third set of these in the last three years. Energenie remote control sockets
Very easy to set up these sockets to the remote control. I have them all set up and can now switch on or off 4 devices at the socket from the remote instead of leaving them in standby mode so over time save a lot of money. They also allow you to switch on or off devices easily where the plug is in an awkward place. Excellent value for money and would recommend.

Armchair convenience
These remote control sockets are really useful to switch on those appliances that are plugged into awkward-to-gets-at sockets. Plug the remote control socket into the wall socket, go through a really simple set up, and you have armchair switch on/off of your TV, DVD, whatever. A real boon.
