A Modern Classic
The Latest Film from the same Stable is called 'Elizabeth The Golden Age', which is definately worth seeing, but in my view this is the film to buy a DVD copy of, shot in 1998 it covers Elizabeth the first's early years as Queen and is a much better film than the latest offering, better Story, better cast, better musical score - a better production altogether, which I think will live on as an all time Classic.The Latest Film from the same Stable is called 'Elizabeth The Golden Age', which is definately worth seeing, but in my view this is the film to buy a DVD copy of, shot in 1998 it covers Elizabeth the first's early years as Queen and is a much better film than the latest offering, better Story, better cast, better musical score - a better production altogether, which I think will live on as an all time Classic.

Elizabeth I (Cate Blanchett) Part 1
This movie begins in the reign of 'Bloody' Queen Mary and shows how her half sister Elizabeth ascended to the throne and her 'romance' with Robert Dudley, the Earl of Leicester. A good history lesson and well made, but it needs to be watched along with part 2 (Elizabeth - The Golden Age) for the full story of Elizabeth's reign.

After watching The Tudors DVD I did not expect this to be as good, How wrong I was, Elizabeth is superb. The best acting, the finest settings and a great feeling of realism makes this one not to be missed.
